I attempted to do the footwell lighting in my Outback but experienced the fried BCM by connecting it to the dome light. Pain in the ass!

In the Forester, I connected them to the light in the ignition barrel. Works much better ...well, it actually works this time!






They are white I promise! iPhone camera makes them look a little blue...

There you go Simon. that should be more than enough of a reason to not try.

Go to the ignition barrel instead.

Tip: Use the correct length of wire to begin with. Don't make sure it works with a long piece of wire then trim it ti size.
