MY06 3.0RB Front Grill

Postby MY0630RB-AL » Mon May 24, 2010 3:03 pm

Hey guys,

Im new on here, and just after a bit of advice.....

Im driving a MY06 3.0RB sedan, and wanting to start some basic mods, just to improve the look....Am looking for a carbon fibre or metal mesh front grill...Similar to those on the 07-08 STIs......I looked at Ultrex's, however they dont do a grill for a 3.0RB....Any ideas where I can find one? And how much?

Cheers,
Andrew

Your best bet is japanparts.com. But be willing to pay anything up to $500-$600.

Go to JapanParts and find the grill you like, and then contact Phat GT at forumparts@gmail.com to order. You'll get the grill landed faster and cheaper.

Another possibility: Modified the original grill...

The secret is in the mesh, which isn't the standard issue wire mesh (it's the same mesh Zero/Sports uses)

Thanks. :D

I made changes in my body shop. He cut the central part made a nice grid (yes, I think too is the secret) and I asked him to paint anything that was not chrome in matt black.

Good decision! I think if you painted the chrome, it would have lost a bit of something. But that chrome surround, especially with a pearl white car, really adds a touch of class.

Hey Olivier,

I thought it was the French who prided themselves on doing all things sexy, but the Swiss..... That is one sweet looking mod!

Any chance you can identify the mesh for us (material, part number, etc)?

Kind Regards,

Mark.

Wow that looks fantastic, and is exactly what I was after in regards to my post yesterday re viewtopic.php?f=4&t=9176

I am very keen on getting that mesh as I think the stock chrome outline looks great with the white colour, as I'm sure you do also!

Sorry for my slow answer...Internet connecting problem.

Ha the French... but I am in the french language in Switzerland

No sorry...impossible for me to identifiy the mesh.

Cheers

Olivier
