im looking for HID kits to fit into my 04 liberty 2.5i , i found this on ebay:

there was someone on the forum that was selling kits but im not sure who it was. i rather buy it from a member but this one on ebay is dirt cheap.

hks180 (Leo - has a section in the "commercial vendors" section as well) in Sydney sells HID kits and tangcla in Melbourne also sells HID kits. Give one a pm and see what they will ask. They both provide good service and are comparable on price IMO.

After some advice and the short version is as follows.

Bought a 01 B4 in earlier this year and the car came with Xenon's/HID's installed on the low beam headlights. Lost the right one last night.

Going through the documentation from the previous owner i managed to find the invoice from the installation of the XenonOz Extreme H7 4300k kit.

Quoted $299 for ballast and globe replacement for one side or $500 for both sides.

Basically want to get the headlights going again without an unnecessarily high price tag. The bulbs used in their kits seems to be an inhouse only design (may be wrong) hence the cost. Is it possible to use an alternative?

Hoping someone could shed some light on the situation (pun intended). Located on the Brisbane northside if that helps

A new kit would cost less than what XenonOz want for a replacement part... so go figure.

I believe they use standard globes but change the connectors to prevent people from buying generic globes.

I'm looking at upgrading to HID's from my standard globes.
As it stands, I've had to realign my headlights so I could see further, and they're using some cheap +50% vision globes in the low beams (H7's) at the moment. What I would like to know (from someone who has converted to HID), is there any real benefit of converting to HID?

From what I can tell, they use less power, last longer and look better. How do they go as far as seeing further and light output?

Also, the area I'm in, there isn't many street lights (or ones that work properly), so it's important to me to be able to have alot of light output and being able to see a fair distance, so the other question relates to the hi-beams.

If I put an H7 HID conversion kit on my car, when I hit the high beams, will there really be a benefit? If I want to upgrade my hi-beams, would I then have to purchase ANOTHER H9 HID conversion kit and put that one on also, or simply upgrade the standard globes?

Yes. I had an identical car to yourself (including colour ) and you get a great increase in the light output with the HIDs. Definitely worth it. See Leo.

The pattern of light thrown by high beams is different - low beam headlights are just that - there is a strong cutoff to stop you dazzling drivers coming in the opposite direction. High Beam throws light everywhere.

My 2c is upgrade the standard globes - HIDs take a short while to warm up which would be annoying when flicking them on / off. I had standard halogens for the high beams and they were fine.

save the money and just upgrade the highbeam to a good quality halogen bulb !! unless you going to have your high beam on for LONG ~~~~ period of time ...
