Exhaust?

I have finally decided to get a new muffler for my 2.5i and was thinking either:
- Cannons with 4" tips
- Mufflers with 4" tips

Either way, I get the 4"tips I want, but I don't know whether to get the muffler or cannon. I like how the stock muffler can be seen from behind the car, and you can see how the muffler is not just where the hole in the bumper is but moving towards the center of the car as well. If I get cannons then I lose this and I don't mind it either. I'm thinking the mufflers wont be seen as much as the stock one's anyways as when they install it the move it up a bit higher so that the tip sits nicely with the lines of the bumper.

I want a louder sounding exhaust, the cannons are nothing cheap like from autobarn, so no silencers, so they are going to be quite loud..I don't want something overly loud..can someone with cannons tell me what it's like?

Does anyone have any photos of a liberty with cannons (preferably with 4"tips) and mufflers (also preferably with 4"tips)?

Which should I go for?
Any help/suggestions are welcomed.

I have Apexi N1 cannons on my GT Wagon... Sounds good & it's not loud in the cabin at all (Unless you've really got your foot into it )

I think it comes down to what look you like the best... But considering your wanting a 4 inch tip, I'd suggest the cannons

How loud would you say is not loud?

Cannons first and only choice or was a muffler considered too?

A few months ago there was a EIO thread about these, but I didn't think it actually went through, did many people get these?

I went down to Liverpool Exhaust last week and asked about my options. PHAT (Micheal) wasn't there but another guy was helping me and showing me my options. I think if I get cannons from there then they would look like these.

How loud would you say are these PHAT cannons?


I don't want something over the top loud, thats the main reason why I'm not too sure about having 2 cannons...

I've watched this video before. I quite like it, but I guess you can't really know what it exactly sounds like until you've heard it in real life. There is so much engine noise in the clip..

Im looking at a Varex, Or a friend can get me a HKS thunder series Burnt titanium tip for $200 or so which will slip onto my 2.5inch piping i also think its a 4 inch.

Might drive down to see Phat cause i do want something loud, but nothing the cops will be like "Look at that another P plater hoon lets get him"

A place called Liverpool Exhaust in NSW, or Phat GT from the forums..I think he works there

For the mufflers your looking at I'm pretty sure single wall and double wall is referring to the tips, whether its just on piece of metal or two to make the tip..

Hmm..I'm not too sure what brands mine will be if I get them. Just a exhaust place in Penrith, it sources a lot of its products from Australia, even some stuff from Liverpool Exhaust, so I've heard.

You have 2.5" piping on your car? That isn't stock?

Yehh, I don't want something over the top loud...
