Gen V black fog light surrounds

Has any one removed these from the gen v bumper? I just received some front bumper spats from Japan and they sit up to the fog light flush so I need to remove the black ones. If you have any tips that would be great.
The new ones are like these

I can't remember exactly (when I had my front bar off) but you should be able to unclip them off the bar (rear access).

Does that mean I could just get to them through the wheel arches without taking the bumper off the car?

Potentially. But there are quite a few clips to pull off to get access to the fog light area.
