Removal of some 'interesting' cosmetic mod choices

So this is 'bling' removal, not adding ;).

One thing I somehow failed to notice before picking up my Liberty TBSTI last weekend, is that at some point in this cars owner history, somebody has decided it was a fantastic idea to remove all of the STI engine cover bolts (At least I presume that's what they are... since there was nothing holding the engine cover in place) and bolt and/or glue them to other parts of the car...

Anyone got any idea what the person may have used to glue these? What could I use to dissolve the glue without damaging anything else?

They look like ebay valve stem caps, that are supposed to go on your wheels

Small cutting disc tool and a steady hand may be the only way to remove that :/

:? I hope not, the other place the previous owner chose to glue them was onto the dials on the McIntosh unit!

Not particularly straight job either.

If it's hot glue, use some form of indirect heat and it will lose its hold at say 80-100 degrees.
Just boiled water might do the trick on a rag...

And the engine cover 'bolts' as you called them, are just plastic clips, if you haven't already got them.

They're the same as the ones for the front of the intake (with the Phillips Head top). Just a dollar or two each from the dealer (cheaper from overseas but hardly worth the postage unless ordering other things. gs as well).

Yeah hadn't had a look under the hood of a TBSTI before, and considering the one through the front grill is a bolt, I presumed that was where the previous owner had got them from (Since they also happened to be missing...)

Replaced with standard plastic clips for now, and looking at replacing the whole head-unit currently. As to the bolt through the front grill, when I get some time I think I'll replace that grill entirely with a custom job anyway. Just doing some shopping around at the moment with a mod list I want to do and working out what I'm doing in what order, and how big of a hole in the pocket it's going to burn :).
