push to start

Has anyone done a push button start conversion in the Gen 4? Was it expensive , and does it look tacky? It's something I've been thinking I'll do down the track but don't want it to be too tacky or expensive

tacky imo haha i think it suits space ship type euro or Italian cars only.

Especially if you have to insert the key anyway

Hmm I was more thinking a proximity fob stop start style button , as I cant see the point in the still using a key. As they say in the video it just means you need 2 hands to start your car instead of 1

Yeah, think I might just put it at the bottom of my possible mod list, probably many other much better ways to spend my money :p

I did see a kit on the net yesterday, from memory it was around $450.00 not fitted, unfortunately I cleaned out my browser history last night so I cannot find the site for you.

It was a proper plug-n-play type setup, no splicing of wires etc., do your research though because there are a lot of aftermarket kits out there and they all work in different ways to what the factory setup does. Some are totally hands free so to speak, others your have swipe the remote over the button to activate it, found that last one when Googling to try and find the site I was on yesterday.

I was browing this sort of stuff the other day and came across this site, their kits seem okay with plenty of button options.

It's not going to look tacky if you put the button in the right spot, in my opinion. There are plenty of places to put them.

That being said, I think it's a LOT of work for very little reward, I mean really is it that hard to press a button on the key and use a key to start a car?
