upgrading to FL front end

Postby legacydan » Tue Aug 26, 2014 9:04 am

So i want to keep my legacy for another few years, im looking to get a full respray as the car is starting to show its age. Before i go doing that, i want to make sure i have it looking the way i do before i get it to the paint shop. so im looking to go from this early pre-fl look:

to the 07 onwards GT spec B look( Gloryboy's sexy front end :)):

Is the jdm specB front end same as the AUDM one? Only difference i can see is the HID washers on the AUDM compared to jdm one. So im thinking i need bumper, headlights and wings. Has anyone done this conversion? If anyone has any part numbers or costs i would appreciate, i found some options on Japanparts but shipping is crazy. If i could find part numbes i could maybe search in UK or Europe for bumper as that will be the costly part shipping wise :)

So after a good few quality hours spent in work today it seems like the part number is 57704AG220 which i believe is the 07 3.0 specb bumper which should be the same as 07tbsti bumper, Does anyone know if they are the same? from what i can see they are identical. I found some in stock in the UK for 400 euro so it would be great if its the onei need, if anyone an help confirm it would be appreciated

Thread detailing the conversion, used a mix of EUDM and JDM parts...
The headlights can cost a fortune... Although non washer type are more affordable...

I seem to remember seeing an actual list of required parts somewhere too. Could even be in that thread.

i was looking for that but i see a overall parts list, nothing too specific when it comes down to the exterior parts he used. I have info on everything now except the headlights. I want 07+ factory xenon ones, were these only available with the built in washer? If i can get xenon ones with no washer that would be best/cheapest

this is proving it may not be worth it in the long run, headlights and front fenders need to come from Japan even non washer type are about $500 each

does anybody know if i can easily swap on the pre FL bumper spec b by just replacing the bumper skin and fogs?

This one:

https://www.japanparts.com/parts/detail/11744

with all the parts and painting and fitting it looks like about 6.5k to do this facelift.

It would probably make more sense to buy the missus a boob job, i'd get more enjoyment out of them for sure!

You are sounding like cruisn: incidentally he did the jdm preFL swap.
Which brings me to: are you facelifting to JDM or ADM (AUDM?).
Jdm has shorter bumpers.
USA sites (or dr20t's profile) are probably the best places to search as the states never got "postFL", thus more conversions...

Yeah mine is a pre fl JDM import. If I good get the parts used locally I would do it, but there nothing like that over this side of the woods. I'll check out their threads for info
