Hi everyone,

Recently joined the forum and was wondering what mods you guys would suggest doing to a 2.5i 06 black wagon. I will be getting my P's shortly so I don't have a lot of money to spend. All I've done so far is black out the grill and got my stock rims sprayed matt black. I am wanting to lower it and exhaust for sure, but am unsure on what exhaust to purchase. Money is a key factor sadly so extensive work is not an option.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Catback, lip, grille, intake resonator removal, double din head unit, lowered springs, feel free to msg me if you need help

Let's assume you are in Melbourne so I'd recommend a rob tait tinter sunroof and front window tint

But seriously check out the for sale section. Get some 2nd hand gear will be cheaper and youll get something thats guaranteed to fit just ask some questions when looking to purchase heaps of knowledgeable people on here to steer you right

As said exhaust wise mufflers will give a cheap and nicer note otherwise a catback bolt on will set it off also 2nd hand is the go
As for lowering there is always someone selling aftermarket springs or even new theyre under a grand

Id look at LED and HID light replacements and upgrades for these see HKS180 Leo

Use search and look through for sale and vendor section and good luck and happy modding

Thanks I'll keep an eye out. One of my mates told me that installing aftermarket HID is illegal and that I'll get defected, do you guys know if that's bs or not?

Legally you have to have water jets for your headlights to run HIDs but in saying that most blokes disconnect theirs as heaps break in the wind. Also any changes to stock need to be certified to an extent not necessarily modification plated

The 4Gen Liberty has projector headlights, which makes this significantly less stupid than in reflector headlights (such as in the 3Gen and earlier models - barring very specialised circumstances, you're an inconsiderate idiot if you put aftermarket HIDs into a reflector on a car for road use). Reflectors are designed for an incandescent bulb with a light source of a shape and orientation that it completely different to the light source in aftermarket HID bulbs. Because they're a much more captive fitting with a smaller area where the light is let out, you're much less likely to dazzle oncoming traffic with well aimed projectors. Also note that some Liberties came with HIDs anyway in extremely similar headlights, so you're not even likely to get noticed if you're not stupid.

Many people who get pinged for aftermarket HIDs did something stupid - either with the lights themselves (chose inappropriate colour temperatures as an example), or got noticed for dickhead behaviour on the road, and the lights were simply used as something the cops could make stick.

Tinting the sunroof??? you do realise this voids any tint/glass warranties as it causes it to hold the heat which weakens the glass to the point of shattering. Not recomended

This was the first thing I did nearly 4 years ago. Has copped 3 years of NT sun which melted my dash and not an issue with any glass

You must be doing something right then, I have seen hundreds of sunroofs that had exploded and they arent cheap to replace
