Lights behind grill

Has anyone done this on here? Thinking I might give it a go. Should be easy enough just wondering if anyone has actually done it and if there's anything I should be careful of. I found some leds so heat and size isn't an issue

Was going to say heat would be my biggest concern, next thing would be getting something slim enough to fit in there.

I have always pondered on installing an LED light bar in there, but never got around to it.. Mainly because the decent ones are $$$$

Yeah, like that. What did you mount them to? I was thinking the ali crash bar but my mate reckons if I drill into that it's bad for insurance reasons.

just onto the radiator bar thingy. i doubt it would ever effect insurance.

only problem i had is that for some reason my headlights melted where the globes attach. no idea if the wattage from these were affecting it or if thats a separate issue. ill do some more research before plugging the spotlights back in.
i was looking at getting the LED bar but i couldn't find one that would conceal behind the grille. also they are fkn expensive.

Yeah right. I saw a couple of round led spotlights the other day that should be small enough and were relatively cheap. Not keen on a light bar, they're the wrong shape :p

Did you have any problems wiring them up? Was just reading the lgt forum and one of the guys was having problems with a relay or something.

No not at all. I had a mate do it for me who is an electrician. It's fairly simple. The hardest part was pointing them in the right direction.

I might have another look at LED spot lights as they are far more popular now, so availability, variety and prices would have all changed.

It is really great to have though, especially if you do a lot of country driving and don't want an ugly light bar.
