Rear Parking sensors - option?

Postby jp928 » Fri Feb 01, 2008 7:23 am

I have lately seen 2 OB current model with rear parking sensors fitted - body colour and all (Atlantic blue and Diamond grey?), so I doubt they are aftermarket. I havent seen these listed as option on suby Oz sites , or am I not looking in the right place?

You will probably find they are dealer-fitted aftermarket options.

You can get aftermarket ones that are colour coded, they are quite cheap, about $250 supplied, painted and fitted.

I have aftermarket option rear sensors.

Brant also do some which are clear, so apparently don't require painting:

Not cheap tho!! 600 bucks! ouch

Be interesting to see what the Brant ones look like.

$250 vs $660... I'll take my cheaper option :P

Ah.. but the brant one supposedly speak to you! Kinda like a back seat driver, or a nagging mrs...

I'm thinking of the cheaper option too.

JP, I saw some "low profile" ones at stylyn car audio in Boronia. I think 250-270 odd fitted (not sure about painted, I didn't need mine painted as my car is black..). They were quite flush fitting though, which is what I'm after.

^^

Thats mine, dealer-fitted option.. i bargained for them when i bought the car so they were free.
They actually are flush and sit nicely on the rear bumper and they sense left(rear) - right(rear) angles for side walls.

Personally don't get the ones that stick out like dogs balls, i had to have a look at them before deciding..
because some can be ugly and tacky but on another note: the colour of your car can be an illusion.

I know that the Strathfield Car Radios @ Caringbah does pretty much all the Reverse sensors for Subaru dealers.

They have all the colour codes for Subaru so it should be perfect.

Speak to Alan or Jason and tell them Bob sent you there.
Ph:02 9526 2000

This is a franchised store and they also own the Thomastown franchise in Melbourne which I pretty sure offer the same service.

Regards,

Bob.
