coilovers vs lowered springs ?

Postby CHILLI » Tue Mar 13, 2012 12:13 pm

im sure you have heard this a few times now

but i was wondering ?

obviously coilover suspension is better quality then stock struts and springs , but if you arent going to be using your car at a track and you want to give your car a drop ( say 30-35 mm )

is paying the extra doosh for coilovers worth it ? or is it better value for money to get lowered springs with the stock struts ?

the receiving car will be a NA 2.5i BL9 that will only have street use .

Coilovers were more comfortable in my experience.

Go the coilovers. You wont get the drop you want with lowering springs due to them all being modelled of the GT/3.0 which are heavier at the front.

I have H&R lowering springs which were meant to lower the car 35mm. Barely dropped it 10mm due to the weight difference.
