Where to start with MODS on MY12 Liberty Sport Wagon

Postby Victripper » Thu Feb 23, 2012 6:30 pm

HI All,

Just looking at what sort of mods I should be looking first with my MY12 Liberty Sports Premium Wagon? Is there any updates on suspension or?

One of the first things I am going to do is take it to Rob and get the front windows tinted but from there not sure. I am not 100% on how exactly it drives as yet. The test drives I have done were all good but not enough time to really see what I want to replace.

From what I read it si pretty much setup like the GT just without the turbo. Am I right?

Thanks

well, the general passage everyone seems to take is tint, wheels, lowering.

im sure if you sent PHAT an email, he might be able to point you in the direction of lowering springs, if thats what your after :D

Simon thanks for you reply

Looks like I have got my tint organised now... Went down and saw Rob from cartint on friday and when my car comes in I am going to get the sunroof and front doors done as Rob asit the back is not required as already has privacy glass and has UV protection built in.

Will have to look in to suspension once i get it and see how good or bad the stock is? Is there easy upgrades like sway bar upgrades?

Yeah there are a few simple upgrades, check out Japan Parts for mods/upgrades
then send PHAT GT a msg, as he does a lot of importing and can get you most things for a pretty good price

Not that I know if I need any of these thought but I am tempted by some of the stabilizer and Strut Bars

http://www.japanparts.com/db/partslist.php?dealer=1&car=157&middle=3&small=16

Also not sure if they will fit the MY12 2012 Liberty anyhow as they are saying

Subaru Legacy BM/BR <Liberty> 2009/2010 Handling and Braking

Another thing that is tempting

LED side Sill and Cargo Room Plates

uh oh :(

haha im terribly sorry for showing you JapanParts.com, as i fear you are about to develope a small case of whats called the "mod bug"
its unstoppable, and soon grows too large that you cannot get rid of said "mod bug"

the only way to ease the pain a little is to buy products through PHAT, rather than yourself as it works out a little bit cheaper.

i also do not accept, nor take responsibility for you spending all your money on mods for the Liberty...

sorry for the sarcasm, but i think its started with you :D you find one small thing, that leads to another. the stabilizer and strut bars will heavily inscrease in handling by reducing body roll, its a definite "must" mod for great handling :D

I would start with one of those Cosworth motors and go from there.
Kinda flush. Fitment is something. ADM as F*ck.
