no ecutek isn't worth it...have a hunt around on here to find a good tuner around Perth...Ecutek is always so overpriced because the tuner has to pay a licence fee to Ecutek.

I had mine tuned at ASG (All Star Garage) which are just around the corner from MMS. The tune was great however I would advise from getting any build work done with them as I find there service extremely lacking and know of a few people who have had some shoddy jobs. Tuning wise they are excellent though and I am very happy with the results. Tune cost about $1000. Also its a Verso open source tune so your not locked down if you decide to change your mind later on down the track....my 2c

Happy with my MMS Ecutek.
Yes it is locked and only them or Race Torque can tune it.
Goes well now for what it is... stock!

Been happy with the work and service.

Had more luck with them (service wise) at the start of playing with the car than I had with other tuners too.

As I've been happy to go there, the ECU being locked has not been a concern.

Otherwise it could be a pain.

Does ECUtek give any benefits? I thought that it gave higher resolution tuning and you could also go MAFless.
Anyone?
Kinda flush. Fitment is something. ADM as F*ck.

I'm thinking about going with ECUtek too. Mainly because the tuners here who do it know more about Subarus than anyone else. Apart from the price I haven't heard a single negative comment about these guys. So many WRX guys swear by the ECUtek tune so it can't be half bad :P

With the ECUtek tune I know you can get little features added too, like launch control and flat foot up shifting. Don't think I'd bother though.

Ive had both verso and ecutek, both are good. Id say verso is a little more aggressive and better value for money but customer service and dyno readout sheets are shithouse.

Scary has just had an ECUtek done on his MY08 with various add ons including throttle blipping on upshift and launch control on S# mode. Lower horsepower on S etc. Flat foot shift wasn't included as the tuner advised against it. Since Steve passed away at MMS they have to fly in a tuner to do the tuning now.

Mine was tuned by ASG using Verso. Quite happy with the results.

How do other tunes go about the SI drive? Do they just tune the S# map or make the whole system redundant? I really like the fact that EcuTek can use the SI drive to run more boost on S# and lower boost on the other modes.
