Painting Calipers... What colour?

Painting Calipers... What colour?

Postby miller0 » Sun Jan 22, 2012 9:35 am

Hey guys,

My calipers are looking a bit ordinary, so I'm thinking of re-painting them and applying a Brembo vinyl over the top of the new paint.

I need your suggestions on what colour combo's would work on a silver/grey 08 GT-B Liberty with the stock silver Enkei rims.
At the moment I am thinking silver calipers with a black Brembo vinyl - Prezza did the exact same, but he has black rims... viewtopic.php?f=10&t=14211&start=30 so I'm not sure if this combo will suit against silver rims.

I can get white, black, yellow, blue, orange, silver, gold or red Brembo vinyls.

Suggestions or photos welcomed!
Luke

Silver on silver on silver would just look silly, sorry.
I would go black with white sticker. Unless you plan on getting black rims

I want a bit of a "change", so I'm not likely to go with black calipers again...

I'm not looking to go with black rims. Looking to keep the stock Enkei's in their original colour.

Thanks for your suggestion though, silver on silver may look a bit weird.

Oh right, you have an MY08. Sorry was thinking you had those orange/gold MY07 colour.

A nice dark red like the FPV brembos maybe?

Red could work... I just don't want the car to look too' boy racer'.
I want to keep the classy and clean look of the Liberty - geez, now I'm sounding picky.

Now that you have me thinking about the gold MY07 calipers, I wonder if something like this would be good?

a fresher looking gold colour could look good on your silver car. I'm not a fan of the MY07 colour.

A brighter gold colour will look good, I'm thinking...

Has anyone got this colour combo on a silver/grey GT-B?

Blue calipers, silver decals. Do it.

Im halfway through a set in the reverse color combo, rears done, going on a Newport blue GTB with black Enkei's.

Dont go gold and black just fades into the background unless thats what you want. Im also partial to the red caliper / white decal for your color wheels/car.

I really like the silver with blue decal, I don't like how the gold stands out on my silver liberty, makes it look a bit too racerboy for my liking.

Where could I get this done in Sydney?

Wow they look great 8) Did you spray them, brush paint or powdercoat? and what paint/products?? I'd also guess given the smoothness of the finish, your prep was immaculate...

Cheers. These were painted with VHT caliper spray paint. 3 coats of silver and 3 coats of clear.

Prep is essential for a good finish.
