Hi all, so I was browsing eBay a few months ago and came across these Merc style LED Daytime Running Lights for $20 and thought I'd buy a pair and see how they'd look on my ride...

...turns out they fit quite nicely, bolted directly onto the honeycomb mesh on my spec.B front bar. I ended up wiring them up to the parker lights and removing the existing bulbs from the parkers so only the LED DRL's were on constantly when I stared the vehicle. I either leave the parkers on, or use the parking light switch on top of the steering wheel, although you can easily forget to turn them off using this switch as they stay on when the car is off. I wired it this way as I didn't want to fuss around with new switches or wiring into the dash. Might wire them directly to the ACC instead so as the rear parker lights don't have to be on also during the day. Took minutes to install on the honeycomb mesh, with the help of a soldiering iron. These DRL's have a black face which matches the surrounding mesh and don't protrude that far from the mesh to look too non-stock. Overall I'm quite happy with the results, the LED's match my stock 4300k HID system quite well. Happy to hear your feedback and thoughts...

You get what you paid for. If you're handy with car electrics & for $20, they're actually quite nice - good find. Have you tried mounting it differently and at different spots on the car to see what looks best?

Hmm. $20 or ~$950. Tough choice there...

Looks okay but still looks too aftermarket rice.

Only light addons I have seen that look nice would be subtle angel eyes like the ones Clarence had on his old car, or MajesticCrows ones.

not really ... if you do not want to hack anything ... its a full kit with wiring harnesses ... so if you decide to sell the car you can sell the DRLs separately ...

Still for $950 the liberals are a bit over the top in my opinion

I'd rather get Leo's for a fraction. It also includes wiring & dimming controls.

Edit: DYAC!

I think the cars just fine without any DRL's.

cheers for the feedback.
i haven't tried mounting them anywhere else as I liked the look of the DRL's on current series Merc's. Also wasn't to fond of the the straight line DRL's, thought these are a bit different and unique. each to their own though. They are easy to remove and you wouldnt notice they've been installed.

Personally I think they're a great idea. I don't care much for the bling factor, but if it improves my presence on the road to oncoming traffic, then I'm happy.
