auto window switches

Postby jeffas4966 » Wed Dec 08, 2010 3:31 pm

Hi Guys,

As withmost Subaru's we only have 1 auto switch for the drivers side window. My query is , can the other 3 switches be changed to auto function

Cheers

I would like to know this as well.

It would be handy at the end of a drive to flick all switches up without having to keep your hand on them.

At the very least it would mean replacing the 3 passenger switches on the driver's door with the same as the driver's door window switch and some wiring and plug changes. At worst you could be up for a new motor in each door along with a very tricky modification to the driver's door switch module to change the individual switches around.

Anything is possible though if you have the time, money and determination

Id be assuming it will be a lot harder than just sucking it up and holding the window switch for a couple of seconds

Easiest way is to get an alarm with auto closure, can do your sun roof too.

I'd rather the choice of not having to have the car running or ignition on to open or close the windows :)

The downside to that is that someone could slip something down inside the top of the window and press the "down" button to lower the window. Presto, they are in.

Is there some reason this can't be done with the driver's side window as is?

Just on acc would be good, or like every other car i've ever driven, for 30seconds after you've pulled the key

unless yours has been modded, the windows need the ignition in the ON position to operate

Interestingly the headlights in the GenV come on in the 'ACC' mode, not just the 'ON' mode... I havn't tried the windows but will now...

check this site http://www.autowindow.com/

I've emailed them and it appears you need two DEI 530T modules to cover front and rear windows and another DEI 529 module for sunroof, which they said can be sourced from ebay.

these are fitted in conjunction with their auto window module which "adds features" to your remote.
