My Gen-5 bling-bling mods

Here are the pics of my recent mods, a big thanks to Phat for ordering and installing all the part for me.
Hope this helps others with Gen-5's.

Im pretty happy with the rear of the car now, its not as ugly as before. The Exhaust made a massive difference on its own, compared to the puny stockies.
The chrome side mirrors havent really grown on me yet.....
With the rear lip spoiler, I have decided to leave the rear LED brake light connected as well as the one on the spoiler, (ill put up a night shot shortly).

It's definitely an improvement. Looks nice (for a MY10). Still needs something though...

- Darker tail lights
- White reflectors
- Tein + Bilsteins drop
- Gunmetal wheels
- AWD Debadged
- Chrome strip painted shadow chrome

Those red reflectors make the bumpers look to big. The wheels looks to bright silver, to many badges, Red is way to light.

Looks good! Well, except for the chrome side mirrors. Very retro look IMO. But the lip spoiler makes it look Lexus-like now. :D

But hamish has got some good ideas there. The red is very dominant from the back. Toning it down would make it look more stealth.

Do the chrome mirror covers still have the turning light in them? And do you mind telling how much they are worth.

Really like these mods.

Are you getting much reflection off the lip spoiler in your rear view mirror?

Hamish, nice photoshop mate :)
For my wallets sake im not going to do much more on the outside at this stage, I may disconnect the other brake light later, it looks better in person, that pic i took was pretty bad (it was glary).

Mark, yeah the indicator is still there, these are just covers that replace the standard coloured covers. They cost about $270 from memory, (the trunk garnish was a little more)
Do you want them ?

There isnt any reflection from the lip spoiler at night, but it will be pretty hard not to see me when im braking!
Speaking of rear spoilers I saw a nice under body spoiler\apron on japanparts which i wouldnt mind but seriously where does it stop?
The mufflers were about $1,360 but you need to check with Phat for up to date pricing.

Next on my list is the metal (hairline) trim for the doors, this replaces the cheap black plastic covers around the window switches on all 4 of the doors. It matches the steering wheel and centre console metal trim.
It should break up all the black in the interior nicely. Ill have to sit on Santa's lap and ask for it, for Christmas. Hey Michael you mind putting on the Santa costume? :D

mmm I like chrome, have replaced lots on my Territory to chrome, but as there is not much chrome on my Liberty GT I am not sure to add more chrome or stay with a black look. Are they hard to change? as when I changed the covers on the territory too chrome ones it was a sure pain.

I understand many give the Gen 5’s aesthetics a hard time.... I actually do not mind them.

Yours looks great; all the changes look great - the rear is a huge improvement on standard. Well done.

As others have said... I am also not convinced on the chrome mirrors, props for giving it a go though.

Nice work,

Getting my head around the Gen 5 styling.....hasn't grown on me yet. I think the Gen 5 chrome grill parts are too big and need something better - sorta like putting an STi grill on a stocker NA....

I recently got the brushed metal window switch covers, in my opinion they should have made this standard on the Premium Liberty's.
It breaks up all the black in the interior and finishes it off, complimenting the brushed metal centre console and steering wheel sections.
The photos dont really show it as well, but it does make a difference in the cabin.
