I've had a Gen 3 RX Wagon for about 9mnths now I'm starting to feel like giving her a bit of a make over. I was looking for some ideas on what might look good.
I havn't seen many wagons that have been modified as much as sedans so any ideas would be appreciated.
I also need to replace or fix the side skirts (they're lifting away from the body and the rubber guard around them is peeling off) and was wondering if there were any variants to the stock that look good?

Cheers.

best thing for starters

lower
rims (preferably stock subaru wheels from wrx or newer model liberty they fit perfect on gen3)
and a decent exhaust (NO CANNONS)

Yeh I have been looking for rims but havn't found any I like yet, I never considered putting new model rims on but I will have a look to see what I think.

As for lowering I had considered it but I have also seen on or two Libs with the wagon full and really low to the ground that the back (obviously from the extra weight). Would lowering it make the wagon space less usefull, or am I just confused?

If you intend on carrying a fair amount of weight around in the wagon, lowering will have it bottoming out a lot more. If it's just everyday stuff it won't likely be a problem. Lowering the car doesn't affect the volume of the cargo area though - just the amount of suspension travel (in bump/compression) you have left

17's off a pre-face lifted Gen 4 look damn good on Gen 3's... Should be able to pick them up pretty cheap as well :)

To be honest, when it comes to cosmetics, it's a personal thing... Sure, different wheels, lowering, tints & exhaust are all fairly common things to give your car a make over... But if you really want to stand out, then body kits etc etc etc can / may come into play.

It's really up to you... I had a black bonnet on my wagon & coped heaps of sh!t for it, but to me, it really set my car apart from the crowd :)
