Andygt, even without having taken delivery of the car yet, all you've done so far is compare the Liberty the GTR, and how much better the GTR is and how worried you'd be modifying the Liberty only to have it be less superior than the GTR. The Liberty will never be like the GTR. It wasn't wasn't built for that purpose. Just get yourself a GTR and be done with it. :D

How so?

Snap oversteer.

Even with a front sway bar, I experienced snap oversteer on my car the other day too. Strange sensation... especially at 100km/h... :P

Too late. If i hadn't bought 2 cars in 3 month trust me I will buy a GTR if I knew it cost only 90k instead of 150k.

http://www.japaneseautocentre.com.au/el/ they say it's 0km brand new. well 0km is impossible but can ask them to write down less than 20km in contract i think.

3 month ago someone was selling a 2nd hand GTR 35 i think. I offered them 100k but they wouldn't sell it..

I went to them the other day. Ask how much and they told me would be alot cheaper than 100k. so I assume 90k? But their manager was busy and I didn't want to wait so I didn't get the the final figure.

we are abit off topic now. sorry just wonder to know how much to do the same mod like gtr lol if it's cheap i will do it if it's expansive then I better off drive the car for 3 years and go get a GTR.

But you see there is problem with our man.

Q: what is the best car?
A: other people's car.

We man just seem to always think other people's car are better. maybe for woman too?

The GTR, like all luxury cars cost so much because of the tax which is 33% of every dollar above $57K. If you grey import (providing that you can) of course it is a lot cheaper than buying from Nissan Australia. But you will have no warranty at all which I find it hard to fathom spending $90K on a near brand new car.

I haven't get into detail with the dealer but I think they will give you 3 year warranty like they do with the 2nd hand import cars. I do find many their cars like few years old but only traveled like 20km or something which makes me worry if they adjusted the odo meter themself.

but honestly I do think if you can really get a GTR at 90k then it is a super price. even you spent like 30k modding the GT it just won't be as good as GTR come standard.

I will have to do more research on the GTR. it is too late for me to get it now. I will just wait maybe 3-5 years before i consider again by then it might be even cheaper? let's hope.

But it does worry me when importing cars from japan which is why i never do it. I know it's cheaper but the warranty worries me. But the risk is worth to take if it's 50k difference? just have to make sure they write everything on contract saying including 3 years warranty and something.

Why not just get a 2nd hand GTR in a few years time? They'd probably drop to about 90k by then, with some of them still retaining some warranty. At least the statutory 3 month warranty. Also there should be a bit more of an install base and more knowledge about issues/hotfixes/mods

There is a problem when buying performance car 2nd hand. Because the owner might drive it really hard. That's why I never buy 2nd hand cars. 2nd hand cars often cost more to fix it then buy new. But it really depends if you are lucky or not. Sometimes if you lucky to find a older age owner or a lady owner, or people like us who love cars and take care of our cars. 3 month warranty is just not long enough.

We should get Ric to create some sort of 'Fight Arena' section where users just have at it with one another. Tensions have been on high alert lately. :P
