BTW lol, ozzy said they will do kmac (or kmax? :S) springs for $600. What quality are these springs?

You're getting ripped off big time if you pay $600.00 for Kmac springs. I would only pay about half of that, if ever decided to fit Kmacs.

If it is $600 fitted, that is about right.... $380 is the quote for springs direct from K-Mac, so that allows $220 for fitting. You will then need a wheel alignment. It's certainly not cheap, but it is OK.

So if i could get 19s and still have a smooth ride by only getting new springs, id be happy, but it looks like i AM gonna have to get shocks aswell for a smooth ride.

My ideal situation is find 19s I like, ugrade suspension so it is still realllllly smooth, and not spend more than $4000 :D

Misunderstanding here. Lowering with springs only = firmer ride. 19s = firmer ride, springs only + 19s = likely a harsh ride.

If you want to lower and keep some level of comfort then 18s is probably your best bet

I think i paid $550 for wheel alignment and king springs on my liberty from ozzy, so would say $600 for kmacs a bit rich

Anyone have any experience with kmacs on stock dampners? Do they match well... OR would I be better going somewhere else for suspension and getting H&Rs or Eibachs etc

TBH I think they'll suit your purpose just fine. I don't see you needing high end springs/damper combo as you appear to be after the look, not the handling. They will be in no way decremental to your handling, but just may not improve it as much as Eibach would. Stick with KMac as they are cheap and will give your car the low look you desire.

You got me all summed up :P I would like too retain as smooth a ride as possible for as low a cost. Do not really care about handling, just as long as it doesnt decrease too much. :D

How about you state your budget because otherwise you're just going to get a whole heap of suggestions you don't want again.

Then I suggest get Swift Springs (as per Jims (Teks) thread) mated with your stock KYB shocks, you will have nice ride that will perform how you want, and cost about $800 all up fitted. It will sit flat as you saw in the side photo in Jim's thread.

Jim - do you agree?

Yeah I would agree that Swifts give a modest drop and reduces the difference in height between front and rear. The ride is not harsh at all, but it is still clear that for performance driving the stock KYB dampers are inadequate with these springs. If for everyday driving or not too fussed, then it is not an issue.

IMHO for a similar price, Eibach Pro would be more suited to stock KYB dampers.

yeh a lot of people have said the eibach pros..

And it is only for every day driving. So hopefully these springs + stock dampners + 19s will = great success!
Anyways ima go to pedders this arvo to see what they say.

Laps wrote:Just went to ozzy tyres to look at some wheels...

Only found one set I like, except the biggest size they come in is 18's and they have a red ring around the edge, which looks ok, but i dunno if i could live with it... (pics bellow). The guy tried to tell me to put 20s on it, i laughed lol... Anyway $1200 for just the rims is ok, cause I have a mate that owns a wholesale tyre company... The ozzy tyres dude said he will put Kmax (?) springs on the car for like 600 or something... I dunno if these are any good... Anyway, so hard to find good rims i like :( lol..

I was looking at them at one stage. Check page 3 of Speedy rims.

That doesn't sound right to me?

A mate of mine is a manager at bob jane and he said $1600 for them in 18's with tyres.

Jax had them on special in hyperblack for $1599 not that long back with tyres....
