Rear Parking sensors - option?

Here's where you can ask for suggestions what MODs you should consider. Let the experts tell you what you should add.

Mmmmm Dealer just called to let me know the sensors they fit (colour coded etc) are $865, camera type is $1200....
At that rate might just keep looking, talk to panel beaters...
Checked with Strathfield Thomastown...$270 at their place, $300 at yours. Need paint code to get the sensors painted first.
Anybody have a pic of what the interior display looks like please? Did they do a professional, neat job?

Damn, dealer fitted is heaps! I didn't think they'd increase the price that much.

I reckon they'd just take the car to a place like Strathfield, get the install and pocket the diff.

I got mine from Strathfield car radio in melb last year. $300 fiited at my place of work, paint matched. Display shows distance from 2m down to 0.3m (1 ft). Display can be put on top of windscreen, but I opted not to have the headlining disturbed, and its in rh corner on top of dash.
I find this a lot easier to use than just tone units personally. We had a factory option unit fitted to our new Mazda 3 recently - tone only, but tucked in left rear cavity with the jack, it was hard to hear properly. Dealer said too hard to move - on inspection it had 2.5M of spare wire coiled up, so I got it over to centre rear of back seat, still with spare wire. Mazda list these at $330, then another $330 to paint and fit.....crooks - the electronics seem to be already in a box in the rear cubby, they just plug the wires in.

Anyway, highly recommended.
