Japanese RSK ECU

Postby Nadroj » Tue Sep 30, 2014 1:03 pm

Hi there,

I have been doing a lot of reading on the B4 across the internet and haven't been able to figure out if plugging a Japanese RSK ECU into
and Australian delivered B4 would work. Correct me if I am wrong but the Japanese RSK had around 206kw against the Australian 190kw.
Was the detune for the lower research octane number and or were there mechanical changes to the Australian delivered? I noticed the Japanese
RSK ECUs on eBay for around $100 and thought it was worth a look. Unfortunately I live in a remote mining town in WA so there is no chance of going down to the
local performance shop to get some work done, so I have to exhaust all other measures of going faster (besides purchasing an already faster car)

Thanks, Jordz

No JDM ECU will not work in AUDM.
The AUDM ECU can be reflashed with the JDM map. No need to get the JDM ECU

Wow that is awesome, I can't believe I didn't know before now that this could be done!

Is this something that you would recommend doing? I mean it really only costs you the time and the ODB2 Cable, am I going to notice a difference?
Sorry about all the questions but am very excited.

Thanks very much for posting up the links, they have been very helpful! I'm excited about getting a new rom on there! Do the odb2 cables off eBay suffice or would you recommend getting a branded one?

Cheers, Jordz
