hi guys,
Just wondering what battery everyone has in there car as mine just gave up the ghost. Problem is mine only has size for a ns40zl as the black under tray is not that big and also there is a oil catch can in front of the battery. Any suggestions on what you guys use or have modified to get in a bigger battery as century are quoting me 55d23l and is alot bigger.

cheers texas

With the catch can being where it is you're stuck with a narrow (width wise) battery. The next size up is an NS60L, they're the same height and width, but longer.
In a maintenance free battery these make 430cca which is more than enough to a turbo 4.

If you really want more powah (never hurts), Optima do make a NS60 size which makes around 460cca rated. In reality Optima NS60's make closer to 800cca.

To fit an 55D23L or 58 (they're the same footprint, but the 58 is about 25mm shorter), you'd need to shift your catch can and pick up the correct sized plastic tray & the wider tie down from Subaru (or wreckers). A 55D23L/58 will fit in a gen3 with these mods. If do mod to fit a 55D23L/58 you can also go for a 34 sized optima for 800+ cca goodness.
