Stuck thanks to alarm

Postby Rickchampion » Sun May 12, 2013 11:52 am

Hey guys. I'm stuck on side of road. Car won't read my pin anymore. Press my first number and pin pad lights up. Enter second number and it chirps at me. Car is now stuck and I don't know what to do. Help please

The chirp should only occur if you have entered the code incorrectly. If you press any other number followed by a second number, does it still chirp?

If you have access to a spanner, reset the car by disconnecting the battery for 10 seconds and try again. Also try using your Master Code if you have it handy.

Well after the incident from the other day I thought the drama was over. No. So I walk out to my car this morning. And go to unlock it via key. Nothing hmmm. Trying second key. Nothing mmmm. Red light solid on dash. Ok so I try open door with key manually. Integral alarm goes off. I jump in. Won't recognise my pin or master pin or valet pin. Car dead.... Ideas?

You can disable the siren without removing it... and that still doesn't fix his problem.

Yes you can remove the Brant and leave it as a regular key-startup, but no-one is going to post that information on a public forum. Best you have a chat to Subaru, or if you are in Sydney, Subaru specialists like NRG and so forth can also remove it for you.

Was going to suggest the exact same thing!!

I had the same issue with my B4 and ended up just getting the master code and when it shat itself I would put that in and it would be fine!!
Not a Subaru...... Something MUCH better

NOPE..... That's shit too. Bus anyone??

If the car has been locked with the remote, it arms the brandt and you have to use the remote to unlock the car and disarm it. Unlocking it with the key will just set the alarm off. Take it to an auto elec and get the keypad disconnected, I did! The alarm is still there for peace of mind/insurance reasons, just no keypad.

brant installation instructions are on rexnet.
removal is a reverse of the install procedure!

It's "BRANT", not "BRANDT". I've often wondered where people got the extra D from...

Im on my second B4 now and this time it has a MONGOOSE alarm system which is pretty good but i kinda miss the BRANT alarm with the keypad and how flashy it was... although, i admit it used to have its moments too lol!

Is there any way i can couple the MONGOOSE alarm pad with my factory keypad key in one? anyone done it?

Thanks.
everything is better in two's :D
