Im high on petrol when i cold start?

Hello forum,
Just want to check if anyone can suggest where i start looking for petrol smell when staring cold (auto choke on)
Seems to only get funky if aircon on, I like... gives me that light/Airy feel on the way to work.
Kids-Missus, not a win.
All help appreciated, again.

I'd say it's normal, I get high on petrol too, when I cold start

Has been a common problem for me, check all your fuel lines in the engine bay. I would bet money that somewhere you have a perished rubber hose either under the manifold or near the fuel regulator. I have pretty much replaced all the rubber fuel hoses in my car since I have had it as it seems the 140k km mark is when they all start perishing!
It doesn't take much fuel to cause a really really strong smell either, the ones that i pulled out were seeping rather than leaking. When the engine bay gets hot, the rubber gets more pliable and seals again so you cant smell fuel anymore.

Only just remembered i'd posted this..
Will jump under bonnet on week end and have a sniff around.
Wheres a good place to grab some new fuel hoses (autobarn?) - qld here.

Also check for leaky hoses/clamps on your air intake. A small leak will confuse your meter and make it run rich.

hmm, definitely not right..
With my rich tune, I got a slight fuel smell from the exhaust, but only when outside the car, at the back!

"Auto choke"...
Choke referring to a butterfly within the carburettor.
Not applicable on EFI vehicles
anywho
Coolant Temp Sensor is the first culprit to look at under "Cold Start" conditions

If the smell is strongest inside with the air con on recycle and you don't get a whiff of fumes when you lift the bonnet during cold start, then I reckon the problem is under the back seat.

agree's check the little breather on the fuel pump assy/housing its the only one with a hose clamp on it
