McIntosh HU: Cd Stuck/Won't Eject

The other way, I tried to change to a different CD already within the stacker, and it did nothing...

All that came up was Press Eject, and when I do the radio comes on.

I try again by pressing the Eject button for a little while, and the displays shows "All Eject" but again doesn't eject anything... :?

Has anyone experienced this?.. Is there a fix out there?
Do I need professional assistance to get the CD stacker working properly again? Any recommendations?

Missing my music... :(

Is this the perfect excuse to tell myself and the finance minister that it's time to upgrade the HU to a 2DIN DVD/GPS/ system such as a AVN726EA :P

I have a spare HU, from upgrading mine.....Yes I think you need prfessional help - out of warranty?
I had a very early car CD player (Panasonic) once that refused to eject a disc - the installer had to send it back to Japan to get the disc out!

Had 2 Mac head units replaced in my Liberty... But never experienced a jamming issue.

Funnily enough, the only head unit I've experienced a jamming issue was the one in the SP23... Which happened to be made by Panasonic :P

I'm also having this problem EJECT DISC / EJECT ALL... with a stacker full of virtually my 6 latest purchases

Tried the removal of the fuse, bashing the side of the centre column, etc etc...

MY07 3.0R Spec B wagon.

Car is getting long in the tooth, but still love it. Frankly the company can't afford to replace it with anything as good. Being a company car I'm not going to throw my own money after it unless a trivial amount. Company is likely to sell the car rather than spend on audio mods to a car almost due for replacement... even if we did think of driving it into the ground.

Any other ideas?

I had a similar issue with an toyota 6-disc in-dash stacker.
but you could remove the faceplate and top half of the unit and free the CD's
dust and junk (interior detailing sprays) collects in the mechanism and jams it up.

surely the faceplate can be removed and some of the unit pulled down?

Mine did this last night for the first time ever. One disc of two in the unit remained when I used Eject All. Fortunately the stuck disc is a CDR that I can burn again as I have the image on my PC. The disc that ejected is an out of print pressing so I would not have been very happy had this been the one stuck.

I would replace the headunit tomorrow if I could but I'm waiting for a new model to come out that ticks all the boxes for my requirements.

I had to go to the shops today.I started the car and tried to eject the disc and it came out on the first attempt. Very strange...

u what?!

This exact thing happened to me. I pulled apart the stacker and removed all the CDs inside. Put it back together and it works fine now. However I burnt a massive MP3 cd and only use 1 slot just in case it happens again.

Hey Owen, sorry to pick up an old subject but could you give me a basic run down of how you started the mission of removing the faceplate and such to retrieve the discs?
I have a '06 Liberty Wagon 3.0r Spec B and it seems I'm having the exact same issue as the guys above and there's no way I can afford to replace the unit.

Would be appreciated. Cheers.
