Upgrade MY08 Nav to MY10 Software

I've got a MY08 Liberty with the Ltd Ed AVN System (Built in DVD, Bluetooth etc) which uses the Redline Nav Disc.
I noticed that the new MY10 Nav system is remarkably similar but has some nice new features.
I also noticed that on whereis.com the Ltd Ed v16 upgrade disc and the MY10 onwards upgrade disc have the same name: "Subaru V16(C2) Map Update".

I was wondering if anyone had tried putting a nav disc for the MY10 in a Ltd Ed AVN System?
Alternatively, has anyone with an Ltd Ed AVN System purchased the v16 whereis update and if so did it update the software or add new features?

To my knowelge it wont upgrade the firmware in the unit. The disc only runs the maps, this is why you can run the extra features of the sat nav without having a maps disc in the drive. That said I only have the older sat nav, but im guessing they are similar when it comes to the firmware.
