Installing Aux-in into 2005 Liberty...help please for noob..

Postby thecrevis » Sat Mar 13, 2010 9:09 am

Hey everyone.
I need an aux-in for my car so i can play my 3.5mm mp3 player directly through my cars speakers. It doesn't need to look great or anything i just need an aux-in..i dont care if its dangling or whatever. The model number of my cd head unit is GX201-KH and it's a 1-CD.

Here is a photo of my head unit [img=http://img222.imagevenue.com/loc939/th_43913_101CANON_122_939lo.jpg]

I have no idea about cars so i basically need some advice as to the easiest and cheapest way of getting an aux-in installed in my car. I was wondering whether to follow the instructions from this post, viewtopic.php?f=22&t=5449 but wasn't sure if it was right for my car.

Oh and i've got very little money because i'm a student so the $55 option in the post linked above sounded really good!

Any help from you guys would be enormously appreciated.

Thanks!

Those instructions are for the McIntosh (premium) sound system. Aren't you referring to the standard Kenwood one?

Check that thread on a project which I have not been keeping track of (I ended up replacing the factory head unit):
