Sooooo, with VicRoads now enforcing new laws on phone usage in vehicles (see here ->http://forum.liberty.asn.au/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=6753), I figured I had better get myself something to hold the trusty iPhone...

Thus, show's us pic of how your iPhone is stored / held / located in your car please. Thnx.

Cheers

iPhone with silicon case fits perfectly sideways in the upper storage compartment (inbetween the air vents), just dont push it in too far or you will jam your volume key lol

Go to Jb Hi fi and get the Belkin I phone holder. Costs just over a hundred bucks, it has a holder and charger and also plugs into the Aux. So when when u talk you can hear it through the speakers, and is also good as I use it for the i pod as well.

I think your talking about the same one that iv got. Mine has a built in FM tuner (no Aux in my car). Its really good because its not a universal one that you adjust around your phone and then plug the charger in n all that crap. You dock it and its done! Also, if you use it for music, when you turn the car off it pauses the song for you 8)

Only annoying thing is that it is built for ipod not iphone. So when you dock it it trys to get you to put it in aeroplane mode. But if you ignore it the error disappears in a matter of seconds and the phone stays in normal mode :D

And it as it plugs into the lighter jack, it sits perfectly next to the climate control controls without being in the way! Its also very stable and doesnt "sagg" or "slip" like alot of them do. I thought it was stuffed the other day because it kept slipping down and ending up with my iphone almost at the passengers feet lol (exaggeration) . I got pissed because i paid $150 for it and ended up ripped it out...only to find there is a nut on the end of the rubber that holds it in the lighter jack. It had loosened and after i tightened it with my fingers it doesn't move a mm! Very happy with it!

This is half the reason I change the HU, and made sure I got one that works with the iPhone, Don't have to touch my phone now to dial/answer and listen to music. But knowing my luck I will get booked for smsing :|

Im going to give my car a good clean up in half an hour...will upload a pic then! The one good thing about these things is in a pre-facelift they almost look stock haha (cant comment on facelifted). They have a glossy screen with almost identical numbering as whats on the climate control (same sort of "font" i guess its called lol). And then its got silver accents up the sides around the gloss panel...exactly like the main console of the lib 8)
