Hi all,

I am looking to upgrade the factory sub in my 05 Lib GT sedan. Gone are the days of my dual 12'' JL Audio 12w3 at 300wRMS each and active 3-way splits, well they aren't gone as the subs are sitting under my bed at home and the splits are now residing in my brothers car but the mrs has put a ban on me going to full hog on stereo upgrades.

Anywhoo, as we all know the sub-bass and mid-bass aren't much chop so I am looking to first replace the factory sub. Has anyone had much success with replacing the factory sub in the factory location? Is it a 6 or 8'' driver? If so, what have you replaced it with? I know that a very efficient driver will be required as the factory amp is very underpowered, will be looking into replacing factory amp at some stage but for the moment I need some semi decent bass.

I also have a couple of bulk packs of dynamat waiting to go into all four doors inner and outter skins which should make for some improvement before I get some decent splits.

While I'm here, is anyone interested in some JL Audio subs??? they are in great condition.

Do your deadening first (good to see it listed there).
Then get the 3 ways back off your brother and install them.

Then re-assess what you want to do with the HU. You may be quite surprised with the result.
