Second headrest LCD upside down

So my car has a DVD player which outputs to an LCD in each headrest.
I found the receipt for the original purchase and these were added at the point of sale, although aren't any 'real' brand LCDs.
The problem I am having is that the left LCD is displaying upside down, now the right hand one you can flip upside down and mirror etc using either the remote or the on screen display.
But on the upside down one, the remote button does nothing and the menu section is missing.
I have asked the dealer, but they really didn't provide much help. He is going to ask the previous owner whether it has always been like this, then I will have some idea.

Anyway, basically do any of you guys have an idea as to what might be causing this?

I have removed it and plugged it into the right side and it is still upside down, so it is not the signal and the actual panel inside can't be flipped unfortunately.

So apart from removing the whole mount and turning it all upside down, I am out of ideas.

Maybe it is on it's last legs...

Did the remote work on it when you did this? (I know you said it didn't work on it when it was in it's original position, but did it work when you plugged into the right side?)

BTW - I have no idea - just using logic from what you've written.

Can't remember if I did, probably worth a go though, is just weird...

the remote would be for the panel itself. i wouldnt matter what input youve got plugged into it.

Yeah you're right, I was gonna strip the guts from both and try narrow down the problem. In the end I decided to just turn the entire mount upside down, 4 screws no problem, although I am still puzzled as to why it is doing it. Oh well.

maybe it was installed upside down to begin with?

sometimes the most logical answer is the correct one :D

Nah, all the buttons are now upside down and the actual panel inside the casing wont fit any other way around, plus it SHOULD have the ability to flip orientation via the remote, I think it is just messed up somehow. Anyway no use crying about it

Have you tried hitting it?

I find that sometimes works. :)
