Hi there.
I recently installed some new speakers (splits) in the doors of my '98 Liberty GX. I looked around for some info and photos before, but didn't find any, so I thought this might help someone...
I'm no pro installer, but maybe it's interesting to someone else looking for tips.
There's a set on flickr with my process:

There are only three screws to get the door trim off (see photos), then it just pulls off (lift out then upwards).
I had to cut the old woofer out of its mounting bracket (hacksaw), and make room for a new speaker to go into it. I guess you could have made a new bracket, but it made sense to just get the new speaker to fit the old spacer. This wasn't too hard, but took a bit of work and a few extra cuts to make it fit.
The tweeters were really easy as the old one unscrewed and unplugged. I just had to saw/cut off the plastic poles in the bracket and tape the new speaker in. The front cover just pulls off.
I mounted the crossover in the hole in between the woofer and tweeter (half-way up the door), but had to make sure there was nothing behind the post it was taped to so that the windows still went up and down.
By the way, the new ones sound better than the old things that had disintegrated.
