has anyone had any experience with this?

i know the gt's and all you "flash" model owners, have one speaker up there standard, and thats all well and good, but i dont have that, what i do have is a pair of 6x9's that i want to put up there, and after looking on the underside of the shelf thru the boot, there seems to be a lot of, for lack of a better term, crap under there.

crap that seems to be limiting what you can and cant do with the shelf?

any help appreciated..

i also noticed the crap dere in my MY07 2.5 but i noticed dat dere was a hole for the subwoofer on the shelf. im not sure wat size it is but its empty and u can definately put something dere since i think the hole is dere for the mcintosh system..

hole there is for the sub. 8" size. needs to be free to air.

don't bother using 6x9" in the rears, they will muddle ur sound quality. if anything, best bet is to upgrade ur fronts to components and try not to go for the mainstream brands. have a budget for them and then go to caraudio specialist stores to see what's available. My splits were $500rrp, but i bought them for less than $250 since they were last year's models... sif u can see or hear $250 difference... but yeah, shop around. next bet is to install and amp, and if you terribly need bass, add a subwoofer. the small the sub the tigher the sound, larger = louder doof. i started with 2 10" subs, cutting back to one, now i've sold it and looking for a 8" free to air one for the parcel shelf just because i don't want to sacrifice boot space. you will realise that over time, you'll appreciate the basic setup but will produce wonderful sound and that the number of speakers is just a bs marketing fascade... like ppl comparing size of their d**ks with number of speakers in their cars.

Getting an 8 inch free air will be tricky (for a good one) seems everyone only goes down to 10 inch now Get a nice little enclosure for a 10 in the boot and port it up through the factory sub hole....

There's also a big argument ported v sealed enclosure. Sealed is usually a tighter sound, plenty of people on here that know a bit about audio though (MO?) so best let them guide you
