I assume it is based on the one we designed, Clarion made that one as well, as they also made some of our Head units and CD changers in the past, although the amps have always been made here.
While our Engineering Dept did not design the specific changes in the later Subaru Models, I’m sure Corporate Approved the system.
Subaru has always owned all details and Support of those systems, We did Design Only.
They Did come in (Subarus) as a package upgrade that cost less than Just a McIntosh aftermarket Head Unit, Many after market McIntosh Car Audio Systems cost more than a whole Subaru.

Hi Chuck,
The system is clearly marked as McIntosh on both the head unit and the subwoofer.
From your email, I guessing that clarion designed/built the system, but Subaru licensed the McIntosh brand to be used?
I take this quote from the Subaru web site:
Entertainment and Communication
14 speakers
6 stack CD player
AM/FM radio
McIntosh premium audio system
MP3 and WMA compatibility
http://www.subaru.com.au/models/liberty ... /features/Can you please be so kind as to verify that you did not design/approve the use of this system in MY07 Subaru cars?
Thanks & Regards
