Headunit Wiring - Antenna

Postby 04LIB25I » Mon Dec 08, 2008 7:37 pm

Hey all,

Just purchased myself an AV Panel set and new Pioneer headunit for my 04 Liberty. I have just pulled the old unit out and found that the wiring for the speakers and power/ground etc. will be pretty sraight forward.

My question is, what do you do for the wiring for the antenna? There is a normal plug type socket on the Pioneer unit, but the subaru antenna seems to be different. There is also a wire for an antenna amplifier. What should I do with this wire?

Thanks

I think Autobahn carry adaptors for the antenna plug.
You need to make sure the antenna amplifier get 12V whenever the radio is on. You can just connect it to accessory 12V, or if the head unit has an active high output when the radio is on, use that. I think it needs about 200mA.

No need to do that. Cheers anyway! Turns out one of the guys at work had one spare in his toolbox. The headunit is now in the car and fully operational. Works a treat and is eleventy billion times better than the stock unit.
