'08 GTB Wagon carplay install

Hey Club Lib, Heres how I did my budget CarPlay install

What I bought;
-double din macintosh facia - (from facebook Paul Burns)
-macintosh bypass cable - (from facebook Andrew James Mutton)
-Sony AX1000 - (SuperCheap auto sale, AX4000 wasn't released yet)
    -2x Deutsch 6 pin connectors - (jaycar)
    -Aerpro Sony to ISO cable
    -Aerpro ISO to Subaru cable

The Install Problems
Head Units aren't rocket science in a lib, Paul's Facia kit is well made and would definitely recommend picking one up if you can off him. Andrew's bypass cable is also great, one end goes to the brown ISO plug on the back of the Aerpro cable the other into the white 18 pin plug under the passenger seat. Unfortunately my cheap GTB has had half the cable cut off and what I assumed were blown speakers in the rear were actually not wired up :russian_roulette:

Bought the Deutsch 6 pin plugs from jaycar, they're amazing and cant recommend them enough. One plug has Left hand side and centre speaker the other has the right hand side and subwoofer, centre speaker and subwoofer aren't wired into the Head Unit however they're pinned into the plug for my ease when I purchase an amp and new speakers. Below is what I believe to be the pinout for the r110 plug under the passenger seat.

R110 Pinout
Pin. Colour of cable What it does
1 Red with Black Stripe 12V +
2 Solid Brown Right Hand side front speaker
3 Black with Red Stripe Left Hand side front speaker
4 Solid Red Dash speaker
5 Solid Violet Subwoofer
6 Black with Blue Stripe and Grey Dots Right Hand side Rear Speaker
7 Solid Yellow Left Hand side Rear Speaker
8 Solid Black GND
9 Red with Black Stripe 12V +
10 Solid White Left Hand side Front Speaker
11 White with Red Stripe Right Hand side front speaker
12 Solid Green with Grey Dots Dash Speaker
13 empty nothing
14 empty nothing
15 Solid White Subwoofer
16 White with Blue Stripe and Grey Dots Right Hand side Rear Speaker
17 Solid Blue with Grey Dots Left Hand side Rear Speaker
18 Solid Black GND

Cool Cool so now my speakers work, Steering wheel control time.
Aerpro sells a Steering wheel control plug thats meant to work however you don't need it on a liberty. Sony Head Units are simple to get going, grab an Aux cable that has one good end and wire it up as follows:

Steering wheel control aux pinout
Pin 1 Pin 2 Pin 3
Not Used White White black stripe

The White and White with Black Stripe mentioned above are from the Aerpro Subaru to ISO harness, On a non macintosh car the white and white stripe cable are for the left hand side front speakers. Cut them and wire them up and bobs your gender non descript member of family relations with working steering wheel controls.

Only questions I have for you guys are:
A) Anyone got the AX4000? whats it like?
B) pins 1 and 9 and 8 and 18, could they be used to power an aftermarket amp under the passenger seat?
