GROM BT3 not responding after dead battery

Postby VanDork » Sat Jul 13, 2019 3:01 pm

Hey there,
Recently bought my first car and it’s a 2005 liberty 3.0R and the previous owner has Installed a GROM BT3.
So I was away for a week and came home to a flat battery oops, Got it jumped and restarted by RACV but
Now I can’t get my phone to reconnect to the GROM via aux or BT.
Can’t reset because pressing disc does nothing, CD stacker works and plays discs fine but when no disc is in
It will only allow fm or am radio.

Anyone know how to reset it?

Read the grom FAQ’s around firmware updates, it describes the situation normal led mode, iirc its glowing steadily.
Its probably just lost it’s pairing so lookup how to re-pair, or if it needs a firmware update check out my thread for the steps. To sum up it wasn’t the latest firmware but the third oldest one that worked for me, and gave me swc track changing.

Basically the grom is always getting power from the loom, meaning if the battery goes dead it’s going to lose its volatile memory which may include the pairing or the firmware or possibly both.

No wait: saved for future use :good:

Sometimes I jump in and bt is connected but no swc control, I’ll have to try that ;)
