long story short, went for a long holiday, battery flat , come back home and jump start the car
nav screen show "no dvd, please insert map dvd"

after doing research realize i need the orginal subaru dvd to reboot the system, search through the car and found a dvd inside the nav dvd slot

so i am asking beside going to the dealer where can i buy/ burn/ copy/ borrow the orginal dvd as the missus really want the bluetooth and backup camera

Put original DVD in, turn off car, turn back on. It should load the DVD after a few minutes.

If I remember, I'll check what my DVD looks like.

Did you get this sorted? I have the same problem! I also have the 15 disc which is not working so I assumed it wasn’t the original.

Hi there,
I have the same car model, same stereo, nav system, etc. -> same problem too.
Every time we change the battery, the nav system will fail to boot up: "No DVD. Please insert map DVD". After a few days, and for no particular reason, the system would boot up by itself for just a few seconds, but enough to connect the Bluetooth back to the phone.
From this point onwards, the rear camera and the Bluetooth would be operational until the next time the battery got disconnected. The navigation system remains not operational.
I had to change my last battery a week ago, and I'm still getting the "No DVD" message. If anyone found a solution to this problem, it would be much appreciated.
