McIntosh Stereo in 2.5i

Postby Finny19 » Fri Apr 28, 2017 4:26 pm

I have a GROM audio BT3 adapter that plugs into the OEM kenwood cd stacker port behind the radio.
The 20 pin input for the cd changer has stopped working and wont accept the grom unit.

I don't know how to repair the stock unit so I reckon i'll just replace the whole radio.
I have a McIntosh stereo and amp from a 2004 3.0R from a mate. But from what I've read, the Mcintosh system has a slightly different wiring set up so it won't directly fit.

I'm wondering if there's any way to make this system compatible for my 2.5? Don't really want to have to spend $100 for a replacement radio if the Mcintosh can be modified to fit.

Any help appreciated,
Thanks

HI Finny

As far as I know you will have to either rewire yr speakers to where ever you put amp or extend existing speaker wires to amp. You will also have to connect Mac to amplifier.
There is tons of info on this forum and others, e.g. Legacy GT and NASIOC.

I have a spare 6 stack GX204 as another option but I am in Sydney.
