Its a higher res nav screen.
Lookup your version nav disc to confirm.

My MY09 GTB is still C1, and that's the last year (probably last 6 months of Gen4 production) so most post-facelisfts will still be C1. There are roumors that the GTB-R with the Orange/Tan Seat inserts (very latest Gen4s, and only ones with DVD Playback and Bluetooth) might be C2. Very small numbers though.

Yeah my buddy has it in his 2.5i, not sure if optioned or retrofitted.
I’ve heard of them in McIntosh cars too.

Interesting. So it sounds like the more basic spec vehicles had Headunits with more features. Probably because Subaru didn't want to spend the money to renew the 14 Speaker 6-CD Stacker McIntosh unit. Would've been easier to get a newer single CD Unit made, especially because our climate controls are integrated into it as well.

same here. compliance date is 05/2009 as per the VIN. guess it doesn't make too much difference in the long run.

anyway, as far as the maps are concerned, these are still the most up to date links available for download right now:

A lot of the Map versions we had a few years ago required a Dual Layer Disc. So yes, even though I haven't tried this latest one, a Dual Layer Disc could be needed. It should work fine with ImgBurn or similar software. On one particular version, we had to the set the Layer Break manually in the settings. And I think our in-car Drives preferred a certain DVD type (DVD+R?). Can't remember, but all of that will be in this thread history somewhere. Apart from that, it's straight forward.

I downloaded it and compared it to the two files I linked above and it appears to be a C1 disc rather than C2. this would be why it isn't compatible with Gen5 as most Gen5's are C2.

with that said, I haven't tried in my in C1 Gen4 as of yet either, but based on the file structure on the disc it should work!

somewhat related, there is an interesting thread about "updated" versions being available for purchase but not actually having updated maps - just the version number changed in a text file on the disc:

Hi guys, it's a been a while (the old timers will know me).

I'm just about to pick up an MY07 H6 Outback with MacIntosh and nav. Pretty sure they are the C1 maps. Happy to throw some money at anyone who can hook me up with some up to date maps.

I have the GPS MAPS 2020 version 26 maps for the C2 version factory liberty GPS, now these have been released by another manufacturer NOT Subaru, I think Toyota/Mitsubishi - point is Subaru has not released a 2020 version for us (check the Subaru website, for the C2 version, only version 22 or version 25 if you are willing to take the risk of it being compatible with your car, good luck on getting Subaru to confirm which version will work with your car....and it will cost you $300 to find out & it will be at least a year out of date !) I have tested this 2020 version 26 map and it works perfectly !!!

Please PM me if you would like a copy for a small fee, as i have paid a lot to get this disk....enjoy your xmas ! :D

Robo I have tried to PM you but I have not been successful (probably due to the minimum posts I have made). Could you please PM me about the V26 maps?
