Afternoon all,

After spending quite afew fun hrs with Hyrax we have discovered that the no matter what we tried with my car that the controls or things couldn't work, yet when we tried everything from the same steering wheels 2 different HU's that they worked now this is where it gets interesting

Hyrax has manual build a month after mine in 07 11/07 safety pack version

Mine is an auto 10/07 premium both fall under MY08

pics here are of my car 1st then Hyrax's car also very bottom pic contects to my car

we are wondering if someone can with a GT 3.0 or spec be that has the 6 button audio with a Macintosh unit would either take pics for us of wiring looks at the back or if they would let us have a look behind there headunit please unless anyone has any ideas

Basically what we discovered is that the cable for the steering wheel controls in my car appears to be missing altogether on Paul's car.

We confirmed that his steering wheel controls worked in general by hooking up his steering wheel to my car's old factory head unit. Unusually, when putting his McIntosh head unit into my car, the steering wheel controls did not work.

So that begged the question - does the Safety Pack version of the MY08 2.5i have a unique headunit that does not interpret SWC or does the input for the SWC have a different pinout to the standard headunit?

Basically what we need to determine is that on 3.0 and GT Gen4 models (MY07 to MY09), do you guys have the three-wire SWC cable as shown in the last photo above, or do you guys have something different? Anyone out there willing to share photos of the back of their 3.0/GT McIntosh headunits or allow one uf us to pull it apart to have a look?

Very interesting to discover that different models of the same variant (in this case 2.5i Safety Pack vs 2.5i Premium Pack) built within two months of each other have different wiring looms!

Refer my post below.
I had to change McIntosh HU and found the newer HU swc needed to bypass the LAN module.
Some of these photos/ info might help.
