04 McIntosh amp fried?

Postby Boostbus » Tue Aug 11, 2015 8:16 pm

Hey guys, it's probably been covered before but I can't find it.

My McIntosh amp has packed it in and smells like burning but there are no obvious burnt spots inside. Is there a common fault with these that I should look for to repair or do I just use it as a boat anchor and buy a second hand unit?
I know that upgrading the whole system is the way to go but I'm not up for it right now so I just need the easiest/most cost effective way to get it running again.

Cheers, Mike.
