New Guy - 07 Premium Pack audio upgrade

Postby juicetin » Mon Jul 06, 2015 6:54 pm

Hi! I'm a proud new owner of an 07 premium pack with the vanilla head unit (that still has the aux option that isn't connected to anything).

I used to have a 97 SkiFX but it recently died :(

So I've been looking around trying to find some specific examples of what I could try to do to achieve my goal, but I've been struggling as most of you seem to talk about the McIntosh units. So can I outlay what I want to do and you guys let me know if its possible?

Simplifying things, this is what I want to do:
- First, install a GROM USB3 w/ bluetooth unless you think Anycar is better for some reason?
- 2nd, upgrade the steering wheel controls
- 3rd, look at doing the tablet at a much later date

Can someone provide some advice, the main AUX post seems to be all about McIntosh... do I need to get one of those?

In lieu of a reply, this is my stock head unit. I really just want to know what it is capable of. I'm planning on getting the GROM USB3 now, and doing the tablet later - assuming that they are compatible. Overkill but whatever :P. Can someone please help me out?

ID your HU or pull it out to check if there's an Aux-in on the back.
If there is, buy or DIY the aux in cable, and plug a belkin air cast auto BT.

Is it:
Interchange Model Numbers: 86201-AG67A, 86201-AG67B
Faceplate ID: P-204UH
Those are LHD models, but you can find your model in the FSM iirc.

Grom, anycar, use the chngr port, once you know your HU model number you can research compatibility.
