Okay so thinking about it a bit more, I already have the fascia that gives me double din where the head unit was.

I was like maybe I go dull tablet with it mounted behind the double din fascia. Measured up the space behind it and it's smaller than the 2012 and 2013 tablets :(

That cubby fascia provides a bit more space behind it than the head unit fascia does it seems.

Back to the drawing board. Haven't found any where that supplies the bigger cubby fascia, just avo jdm which does the one with the sat nav buttons on it which I assume is too small?

hey david, i've read in the other nexus install forum you were having trouble getting above 1000mA charge rate on your nexus 7, i'm having the same problem, it sits at about 800-950mA but never goes about, did you figure out how to fix it?
how does it hold charge when the car is off, aka how many days does yours last without a power source, & do you close or leave your apps open?
cheers.

Corrrect. mine mainly sits 800-950mA too. I generally lose about 1-2% per day BUT only if I've turned off wifi, GPS and shut down Torque. If I leave those on It is flat within ~24hrs.
The longest I've left my car without being driven was just over a week when on holiday and it still had around 50% charge from memory.

Just did a Nexus install in a mates car (just a cruiser) and I put AutoMate on there, looks like Android Auto, and works well. Does all the speed, weather, music and any other notifications on one screen, with individual screens for each also.
Thought you guys might be interested.

Any advantages over Car Dashdroid or Car Home Ultra, or any of the other apps which exist?
Assuming you have rooted and added a new kernal like Timur's, does it interfere with hibernation when the ignition is killed?
Post some pics!

There are 2 different models, this one is slightly smaller than what you need for a good result. The one we are all after :( is H0017AG915 which has a 100x200 opening rather than 119x180

I'm in the same situation, I've got the nexus 7 but nowhere to mount it nicely, so I only used it twice with a tablet holder with a suction cap
