Hi there,
I have been reading these forums for days trying to find a solution. I get some mixed responses so i thought i should ask my question here.

I am from Melbourne Australia and have a Subaru Liberty 2006 MY07 Spec B Turbo with the MCINTOSH system!

My main concern is to have the USB/SD function; not worried about aux/bluetooth/ipod

From reading there are 2 options for this:

GROM USB3 http://www.cushieaudio.com.au/subaru-usb3.html

and

anycarlink AL-1080A/B http://www.anycarlink.com/Product.asp

First question:
With GROM USB3, on the cushie audio website it says that if the mcintosh system is from China it will work with USB. If from Japan USB wont work. Now, i tried removing all the screws and the panels from my mcintosh system but i couldn't pull it out. Now cos the car is in aus, would someone know if the system is from Japan or China? And whether the system is actually PF-28241 given the model of my car? (I will attach a picture)

Second question:
has anyone installed anycarlink for their MY07 system and did it work properly? Also, how can I purchase the anycarlink system as the website doesnt have any payment information? Can you buy it direct from australia?

PS. I'm sorry about if you think these are repeat questions but I looked all over the super thread and didnt see answers to this. Im happy to take this post down if its a nuisance.

Thank you so much :)

anycarlink: most come via nz distys... 5th result on this google search :)
https://www.google.com/search?q=anycarl ... 8&oe=utf-8

as regards the grom: i used the mac code in a google site search, chose the image search option and got this:
https://www.google.com.au/search?q=site ... CAgQ_AUoAw

then i got this:
http://www.google.com.au/imgres?imgurl= ... BwQMygAMAA

which took me to this:
viewtopic.php?f=22&t=16196&start=360
so yeah, theyre Japanese. but try a counter search to see if the website info regarding grom usb compatibility is infact correct.

which, not coincidentally, would be the topic best suited to ask and research your questions :P

most issues are related to swc's not working with these adapters as expected afaik.
the radio does come out, even i managed it!

there's a how-to here... somewhere...

If you're interested, I've got a GROM IPD3 sitting on my desk being unused.

Can even sell with an iPod if you'd like?
