What's in the kit?
My understanding is that you buy the kit to suit your hvac controls so that part should be plug n play.
Then find a way to interface your new head unit with eg the stock amp which is usually via a 13 pin din plug.
I'll dig up some reference material :)

See installs links I'd say :)

Yea the fascia kit is just a simple plug and play but uses your original hazard button.

Assuming the 2.5i only ever came with the kenwood system you'd be simply looking at finding the correct adaptor to go from your new headunits output to the standard subaru speaker wiring harness, or just cut the new one in using the new headunits provided one sided harness.
Here's the subaru wiring colour chart if you end up going with a homemade job.

Didn't think the kenwood systems were amped benny?

Well thats a massive yarn. Depending on what your headunit comes with you may need two adaptors.
Here's an example for a pioneer headunit. Its a nz site but gives you the right idea.

Subaru harness > iso harness

Iso harness > pioneer harness

I picked up a harness from Supacheap for under $15.
They have a whole selection dedicated to harnesses.
