Steering wheel control harness. Which one is the right one?

Postby Evozn » Sat Feb 07, 2015 4:21 pm

Okay, I've asked before but never got a straight answer from anybody. I have a pre-lift Kenwood sytem and need a harness to use my steering wheel controls on my new Alpine unit, which harness do I need? I've read Aerpro CHSU5A (Impreza G3/SH Forester suited one) and CHSU2A (SG Forester suited one) but which one is the right one for me? This is the last piece of my puzzle and I want it in asap.

Thanks

There is no 'harness' for steering wheel controls for the Liberty.

You need to buy a PAC SWI-RC and have it wired in.

I've installed one into a pre-facelift 3.0R-B with a Pioneer headunit so if you can wait until after the 19th of this month I would be able to install into your car and get your SWC working.

The PAC's are pretty easy to wire it can be tricky to set them up though as it a series of button sequences and flashes of the led awesome one setup though. I found mine has slight lag over stock need to push the buttons just a tad harder or longer not much though

After a load of problems with my own setup a few weeks ago I can confirm that the PAC unit is the one you need.

I've just installed a Pioneer head unit into my 2007 3.0r Spec B and the Metra Axxess ASWC-1 worked a treat. No programming needed, it was plug and play. The unit auto detects what head unit you have and what car you own, and it worked straight away.
