Hello all, if you have the MY08 Liberty with the LTD EDITION SAT NAV & BLUETOOTH then you can just put the SWC onto your wheel with no mods ! :D I paid $20 from the wreckers for them (they come as a pair - cruise & radio) ALL BUTTONS WORK CORRECTLY with no problem or mods needed. :)

I am going to attempt to fit the LAN Module part 88291-AG000 to my 04 2.5i.
I have the Momo spec b steering wheel out of a 2004 H6 outback along with a 6cd stacker radio from that same car.

Following this diagram i will attempt to connect it up myself.

If anyone has done this before please let me know if there any tricks to doing it right.
Otherwise, I will post my results, whether I succeed or fail

Here is my steering wheel and radio (GX-203KE)
Couldn't be bothered to take it out to show the back, however it has exactly the same plugs and wiring as the radio from any pre-facelift

I will be on the look out for any H6 outbacks being wrecked in my area so I can obtain the Lan module and necessary connectors/wiring

I will pass on the sat-nav unit as it requires a few other pieces, plus I don't think sat-nav was offered in the 2004 models so i doubt it would be compatible? Correct me if I'm wrong. And it's another $300 I don't want to spend

Great news, I have sourced a LAN module and connector from a 2004 H6 outback that had the same radio and steering wheel I have. Currently waiting for a free weekend day to do the install.

I did it!

I now have fully functional steering wheel controls on my pre-facelift 2.5i!
All you need is that LAN module 88291-AG000 and 8 wires (as well as the swc buttons)

Am yet to connect it to the illumination circuit, but that fact it is now functional makes me so happy. No more taking hands off the wheel to change songs!
As proof, you can see it says mute on the radio

Should I make a new thread show the steps to do this?

Another quick update.
Illumination set up is now complete! Just needed one more wire and that's all.

Seeing those buttons glow is awesome. After months of on having the SWC not functioning, I can't help but press buttons for no reason.

Will make up a full guide in a new thread for anyone else looking to do this mod.

Have made a write up showing what's required to add SWC to preface kenwood stereo cars. Basically for 2.0i and 2.5i (though some GT's had Kenwood radios instead of Mcintosh)
Write up here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1yOb4aVPDDjwJBp_RVQBPEV3wH4qovXhz/view
