So is there an option that will 100% work for aux/ipod input?

If so which one is it?

This one: http://sydneyinstallers.com.au/product_ ... ucts_id=28 (Suzuki variant)

I'll give an answer on the 100% thing after I get mine.

Hi all,

I diddnt think the day would come but it did about a month ago when my premium pack macintosh headunit displayed the annoying focuss error msg. I do use the cd player very often for my favourite tracks as the sound qaulity is un matched to my current ipod fm transmitter.

After running around and trying to source a solution that will allow me to play music from my ipod clearly without any interference and not having to go for an aftermarket head unit, I ended up going with the Axxess AIP-CL-ID . A few members stated they purchased it on ebay however after searching for it, most of the sellers do not ship to Aus.

I ended up buying the Axxess AIP-CL-ID from www.onlinecarstereo.com from the US and arrived in 1 week. note: if you purchase from this site it will take you to a third party company called international checkout to process your order.

I got around to installing it yesterday and the result is pretty good, the sound qaulity is tad shy from cd, however i now have the choice of thousands of tracks and all controlled from my ipod. I noticed some members loved the idea of controlling music the steering wheel and went with clarion unit, however with the my05 model i dont have that luxury on my steering wheel.

In conclusion spending $80 for the Axxess AIP-CL-ID was money well spent IMO, sound is great n clear compared to any fm transmitter, choice of 0000's tracks, choice of 3.5mm jack (non iphone/ipod users) or ipod connector and kept stock sound system. Only downside is that it does not charge your device.

I hope this helps the next victim.

Thanks for the write up. I've just bought one from the same place.

Are there any simple instructions for doing the install?

I bought the Axxess AIP-CL-ID last week too!

Can't wait to rip the dash out for the first time :)

For those of you that have done this installation before, do all the parts go back into place nicely without creaking afterwards?? (i used to own a VT commodore and its never the same when i put the dash back together)

Good luck. I found the two vertical silver strips that are on either side of the centre console really hard to remove. Never did figure out the proper way. I used brute force and snapped off a couple of the plastic mounting lugs on the underside. Went back with no rattles. But I was left wondering how on earth they are supposed to be removed.

Hi Everyone,

I am looking at puchasing one of these Axxess AIP-CL-ID units. I do however have a question about how they work. What do you need to put the Macintosh head unit on when wanting to listen to your mp3 player?

Do you just leave it on CD?

Hopefully someone can help me, and thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Curly

You just have to hit the cd button twice and it connects to your mp3 player, and all tracks are chosen from mp3 player.

Just installed the Axxess AIP-CL-ID onto my headunit tonight in the runup to getting my CarPC moved over from my old car. (more to follow on that in the coming weeks)
Seems to work by holding the CD button down for a couple of secs. Alot noted that it charges the iPhone at the same time which is nice. Sound isnt too bad either :)

Well this song sounded awesome when cranked up :)

Is it just me or does anyone else who has a Axxess AIP-CL-ID installed notice that the sub cant really be heard when using it and the volume really needs to be really turned up?

I ordered my Axxess AIP-CL-ID from online car stereo early november, and yesterday i got sick of waiting, so i told them to cancel the order.

Does anyone else know where it can be found?? I have checked all of the internet (yes the entire internet, the whole lot!!!!) and no one has stock.

And since Axxess AIP-CL-ID doesn't charge the iPhone, i might as well install the 3.5mm audio jack and use it with a dedicated iPhone charger.

Thanks, is this the product you are talking about?

http://www.xcarlink.com/show_info.asp?product_ID=353

Will it fit into a MY08 GT with a McIntosh unit?
